we should of moved him ....

now we we have two bipolar twins on this team

nothing like having such great talent but wasted away on guy who gives two Sh!ts ..

that's what makes me mad as a fan

Say he is having a productive season and we move him to a contender, what type of return do we seek? More picks and prospects? or a possible salary dump?

high end, a future first rounder (2016) or an upper-level prospect...dependent upon his season

It will also depend on what the market's like. Last year was flooded with goal scorers so we only managed two seconds for Moulson.

i don't know... I think he came to play this year. WGR has, and other sabres players have been talking about his work ethic this summer. 26 is an age where you might realize there isn't gonna be a lot more chances coming in the nhl.

Why does he need saving? Can't he be just an ok hockey player ?

Same with Stafford. We should just accept that they are not stars and it will be easier to watch them

He does not need saving . He is in a contract year . Both him and Stafford are playing for their next deal . They will perform and we will get great returns for them at the deadline.

It would be ok if Stafford and Stewert were just ok players who gave it their all...that I could watch and not have malice for them. Like watching Cody McCormick.
However, They are better than just ok when they decide to be, when they decide to put the effort in...then you get 25 -30 goals out of them and it is fun to watch. That is what is so frustrating about them both. I for one am done watching that type of player.
Hence the quandary the Sabres will find themselves this year...if they give the effort and have the expected results ... Do the Sabres then sign them and hope they have matured? Or do they trade them and get back a decent return?

For me, trade them...to much evidence that they will return to their underachieving ways again in the future. Let somebody else deal with their inconsistencies. Hopefully we can get something we need for them.

BTW - where is everybody....there was more banter in here in early August than there is now...day of the first preseason game!
We survived another offseason!

Going to Bills game...will enjoy taking a shower in public with 72,000 of my closest friends!
While I hope it doesn't rain the entire time, I can't help but believe a slippery ball and field my play more favorably to the Bills running game rather than the Chargers passing game.

Go Bills!!

I'm giving Stewart a legit chance. He is thrown in the same boat as Drew which isn't fair because he has only played a handful games here... If he performs well this season I say keep him unless we get a very nice offer for him. Sorry I don't wanna trade one of the few goal scoring wingers we have for a 2nd rounder or a prospect that may never turn out.

Stafford was pretty solid last season. If continues, no redemption?

I think the opposite. He's always good in contract years. The point is do they trust him not to revert next season, or not take any chances resigning him and trade him.

Neither Stafford nor Stewart will bring back a 1st rounder in any year at the trade deadline.

I don't think you'll see much until the regular season. When you expect, and, in the case of most people here, even hope for a near last-place finish, there really isn't much to talk about.

I'm not worried. As soon as Girgensons or Myers make a mistake this place will liven up
